Written c. 1757-59, the Apocalypse Explained, along with the Arcana Caelestia, is Swedenborg’s most comprehensive and detailed biblical exegesis. Every verse in the Book of Revelation is discussed up to chapter 19:10. At the end are two treatises on ‘The Divine Love’ and ‘The Divine Wisdom’ (these have also been published seperately). The book is a major contribution to Swedenborg’s understanding of the Bible. This work was published posthumously.
