Description
John Pitcairn, a contemporary of John D. Rockefeller, played a significant part in the industrial development of the United States, as well as pioneering roles in the development of the Academy of the New Church and the General Church of the New Jerusalem which he endowed. He provided the stage for the growth of Bryn Athyn, the world center of the educational and religious institutions of the General Church.
