Description
In his introduction to this biography, Brian Kingslake states: “This book is by far the best I have ever come across for bringing the intelligent atheist or agnostic to a friendly confrontation with Swedenborg.” He reports that the author does not accept that Swedenborg was divinely inspired, or that his theological writings constitute a new revelation. Kingslake asserts that the author’s unbiased approach gives her an advantage over biographers who are clearly partisan. First published in 1948, this biography is still of value as it describes one of the greatest minds of the 18th century with wit and scholarship.
