This first work by Erik J. Buss presents some of the many ways in which the Lord calls upon us to engage in the work of evangelization. It offers reasons why this is important, and methods by which we might go about it. It provides insight about who is most likely to be receptive to our efforts, and under what conditions.

This is not simply a “how-to” manual based on the personal experience of what works and what doesn’t work. It is an exercise in applying the Lord’s Word to the formation of universal principles that may apply to all times and situations. It is written with the belief that, although people can develop wonderful programs and techniques for reaching out, these efforts will be effective only insofar as they look to the Lord and seek to serve the purposes He has established for His Church. Many of the principles described here are the basis for evangelization efforts underway throughout the New Church today.
